Meanwhile (a couple of years ago, but still):

Halliburton “sold nuclear technology to Iran”

As CEO of Halliburton, Mr. Cheney lobbied the Clinton administration to ease sanctions on Libya and Iran, according to various news reports. “I think we’d be better off if we, in fact, backed off those sanctions [on Iran], didn’t try to impose secondary boycotts on companies .. trying to do business there,” Cheney told an Australian television interviewer in April 1998.3

According to the Financial Times, before he was elected (but after he resigned from Halliburton) Cheney “has said the company is allowed to operate legally in Iran through its foreign subsidiaries.”4 “What we do with respect to Iran and Libya is done through foreign subsidiaries, totally in compliance with US law,” Cheney told ABC Television’s Sam Donaldson….

“It is extremely disturbing to hear media reports of possible violations of our anti-terrorism laws by prominent American companies through straw corporations established to evade U.S. law. What makes these charges extraordinary is the involvement of the Vice President, since Halliburton Products and Services began operations in Iran during the time that Vice President Cheney was CEO of Halliburton,” Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) wrote in a letter to her colleagues.

In short, Cheney set up a false off-shore company in order to sell nuclear technology to Iran. Run by the same people who say we need to go to war in Iran to “protect our freedoms.” Halliburton then profits off the war in defense contracts:

Halliburton announced on Friday that its KBR division, responsible for carrying out Pentagon contracts, experienced a 284 percent increase in operating profits during the second quarter of this year.

The increase in profits was primarily due to the Pentagon’s payment of “award fees” for what military officials call “good” or “very good” work done by KBR in the Middle East for America’s taxpayers and the troops.

The thing I can never get my head around is profit motive. Destroy the environment for profit. Check. Put the world on the precipice of World War III for profit. Check. How many more human heart steaks does Cheney need to eat? Cut to: worst case scenario 20 years from now. Vast environmental degradation, 5 billion fewer people, cities destroyed. Was it worth it? Was it necessary?

To tie this back to my pet issue: how this ties into the UFO issue – a subject that would never, ever be mentioned in serious discussions about the environment or war profiteering. The person who probably knows about this issue is someone like Dick Cheney, former Secretary of Defense under CIA chief George Bush Sr., etc. Research doesn’t come up with a whole lot, just a lot of conjecture, as usual:

Dick Cheney faced even more UFO speculation, after George Bush stated in July 2000, while campaigning in Arkansas, that it would be Dick Cheney’s first White House job to get the answer to the UFO mystery. Cheney had served as Secretary of Defense from 1989 to 1993 under President Bush.

During his tenure as Secretary of Defense, however, Cheney did not release a single scrap of information to researchers that indicated UFOs were for real.

The UFO issue could also be about money. Keep UFO technology under wraps so that profits can be made from our current energy economy and war. Given Cheney’s willingness to destroy things in order to make money, UFO secrecy makes sense. Again, it’s not about “protecting our freedoms” by protecting the current fabric of society, it’s about where money can be made.

The premise of The American Book of the Dead is that the Cheneys of the world want to bring about WW III in order to usher in a “more-manageable” population so that first contact can occur. Otherwise, in a world of terrorist states, the introduction of advanced technology would lead to a less-manageable WW III, in which everyone died. So there’s some method to the madness – the impulse behind every conspiracy theory. In a world as insane as this one, in which there is limited respect for environmental preservation or peace, that theory makes about as much sense as – a millionaire needs another million dollars.
