What they seem to want is for the angriest minority to be in power, regardless of an election.   I could almost understand the rage because sometimes minority opinion is right and the majority is the lowest common denominator. But not when the minority wants to do away with democracy.  And couching it in terms of anti-democracy=freedom.

It just makes me pissed that people can be this stupid. But then I got to thinking this is sort of a mental disfigurement akin to plastic surgery. People mutilating their faces and thinking that they are getting closer to perfection. Humans seem to have the capacity to believe in the exact opposite of reality. It’s troubling – and I’d go so far as saying that thinking fascism=freedom is a mental illness. Some mentioned how the Glenn Beck shooter was just an isolated incident, and you can’t blame Glenn Beck for the actions of a lunatic. Well, you can if the inspiration is nearly as insane as what it caused.

That, or it’s just an astroturf front for a pro-corporate PAC. As someone on Dangerous Minds points out, a number of different fascist-leaning PACS all have the same PO Box in Houston: PO Box 131327. So they’re using the misguided rage of the Tea Party to help strip whatever regulations remain in industry. Or: they actively want a fascist dictatorship in America and the way to do this is to claim the opposition is doing everything they wish to do themselves. Wish George Orwell was alive to point out how wrongheaded it is for the doublespeakers to be using 1984 as a source. You could say it’s ironic, but it’s too dangerous to be mere irony.
